FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER - Plant and Agricultural, Devon UK


The role: 

Due to the growth of our business, Machine Serve is looking for a motivated, skilled Plant/Agricultural Service Engineer with great attention to detail to join our friendly team. A typical day could see you working in our fully equipped on-site workshop servicing high-end plant machinery, or out visiting our valued customers across the South West in one of our company vans. Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Carrying out servicing on small and large plant machinery, for example anything from a plate compactor to a 13t slew. 

  • Carrying out machinery hydraulic, electric, mechanical diagnostics and repairs. 

  • Solving and instigating the fitting of attachments on machines involving complex hydraulics, electrics and fabrication, including welding. 

  • Representing Machine Serve on customer sites repairing and servicing machinery, and giving the high level of customer service we have built our reputation on.  


About you: 

  • You will be an experienced Field Service Engineer. 

  • You will be confident in your own abilities and decision-making. 

  • You will be able to understand and navigate modern vehicle computing technology. 

  • You will be able to understand hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings to assist in procedure for diagnostics.  

  • You will need to have some previous experience of fabrication, including welding. 

  • You will be a driven, self-motivated person who is able to plan, prioritise and manage their own workload. 

  • You will be an enthusiastic team-player. 

  • You will have excellent customer service skills. 

  • You will have a current driving license.

We’re continuing to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and our fantastic team are at the heart of making that happen. This does mean that we are doing things a bit differently at the moment, and we have taken precautions to make our workplace as safe as possible during this pandemic.
