Factory Visit

Dieci UK were good enough to take us to Italy to visit the Dieci factory. What a great eye opener to Italian way of life and workmanship. At present Dieci is constructing a new factory to be open soon (seen below). It was obvious when walking around the existing factory that the workers are motivated and proud of the Dieci's that they produce. All machines are vigorously tested and inspected before leaving the factory which has been evident when we have recieved new machines for pre delivery inspections. It was interesting to see that the Americans take the Dieci's without any safety features or glass (it would be nice to see common sense be legal again in the UK).

The New Factory

My estimation for size is about 2 Hectares under cover. I could be wrong mind although my wife says I'm never wrong!!.

Lorries were queued delivering 26 metre, 35,000 KG roof cross members.

Along came the crane and lifted them up.

Two guys on ropes helped to position the cross beams, the guy with the hat waved and instucted the crane driver while the men at each end dropped in the bolts to secure. It took about 10 minutes for the beam to be strapped, lifted, lowered, fixed, unstrapped and the crane moved and ready for the next beam.
